The Hotel Residence San Gregorio is located in Pienza, a town nestled in the green and in the heart of the Val d’Orcia. It was designed and built between 1459 and 1462 by one of the most famous Florentine architects of the time, Bernardo Gambarelli called Rossellino, by the will of a great humanist Pope Pius II (Enea Silvio Piccolomini), who wanted to transform his birthplace Corsignano in a beautiful Renaissance town.

The town of Pienza, a rare example of Renaissance town, a UNESCO world heritage site because of the importance of its monuments and its urban, is able to give concrete answers to the desire of civil society peaceful and industrious men . In the immediate vicinity of Pienza is located Corsignano church, an outstanding example of Romanesque art, one of the most important temples of the early medieval Siena, monument essential to understand the history and origin of Pienza that stands out in a natural environment and landscape of great charm.
